Project Inquiries
We’re Ready When You Are.
Inland Technical Services has been delivering independent commissioning, testing and balancing, integrated systems testing, and O&M documentation across British Columbia since 1986. Whether you’re an engineer of record specifying TAB for a new institutional building, a general contractor looking for a commissioning authority on a healthcare project, or a developer who needs O&M manuals for building handover, ITSL has the credentials and the field experience to help.
We work across the full province — from our base offices in Kamloops and Kelowna to Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, Northern BC, and as far as the Yukon. The most efficient way to start a conversation is to send us a brief project overview via the form or by email. We’ll respond within one business day with confirmation of receipt and initial questions to move the scope conversation forward.
For urgent inquiries — including time-sensitive commissioning or TAB schedules tied to substantial completion milestones — please call either office directly. Our project team monitors both lines throughout the working day and can often provide same-day feedback on availability and scheduling feasibility.
ITSL does not use a call centre or automated answering service during business hours. When you call, you’ll reach a member of our team who understands the work and can have a real conversation about your project requirements.

Why ITSL
What You Can Expect When You Work With Us
From first inquiry to final report — here’s how ITSL approaches every engagement.
Same-Day Response on Urgent Inquiries
For time-sensitive project scopes — particularly where substantial completion milestones are approaching — call either office directly. We understand construction schedules and we respond accordingly.
A Real Scope Conversation, Not a Template Quote
Every ITSL proposal is developed from a genuine review of the project specifications or tender package. We don’t generate volume quotes — we understand what we’re pricing before we price it.
Integrated TAB and Commissioning When You Need It
When ITSL performs both scopes on the same project, there is one point of contact, one issues log, and no risk of gaps between the TAB report and commissioning documentation. Most healthcare clients engage us for both.
Field-Based, Not Fly-In
Our Kamloops and Kelowna offices mean our technicians are on-site consistently throughout construction — not arriving for milestone inspections and billing return travel. You’re getting field presence, not project management from a distance.
Healthcare TAB and Commissioning Experience
With over 10 full hospital towers commissioned and balanced, ITSL’s healthcare expertise is unmatched among Interior BC firms. CSA Z317.2 pressurization, BC Health Authority documentation, and occupied facility protocols are familiar territory for our team.
Reports That Are Accepted Without Revision
ITSL’s TAB and commissioning reports are formatted to the expectations of engineers of record, BC Health Authorities, LEED reviewers, and building permit authorities. Clients don’t spend their project closeout chasing revisions.
Common Questions
Before You Reach Out
What is the best way to get a quote from ITSL?
The most efficient path to a proposal is to send us a copy of the mechanical specification sections and the project drawings via email, along with a brief description of the project type and your required timeline. If a full specification isn’t available yet, a summary of the mechanical scope and project details is a good starting point. We’ll follow up with any clarifying questions before issuing a proposal.
How early in a project should I engage ITSL?
For commissioning, early engagement is always better — ideally at the design development stage when the Owner’s Project Requirements are being developed. For TAB, a formal engagement 3–4 months before the target TAB start date gives us adequate time to review the specification, prepare a TAB plan, and coordinate field resource scheduling. That said, we regularly pick up projects closer to completion when circumstances require it — reach out and we’ll assess.
Do you work on projects outside Kamloops and Kelowna?
Yes. ITSL delivers services province-wide from our two Interior BC offices. Healthcare, institutional, and LEED projects regularly take our team to Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, Northern BC, the Kootenays, and the Yukon. We evaluate each out-of-region project on the basis of scope, schedule, and resource availability. Contact us with your project details and we’ll confirm our capacity.
Can ITSL perform both TAB and commissioning on the same project?
Yes — and for institutional and healthcare projects, this is strongly recommended. When ITSL holds both scopes, there is a single point of accountability for all mechanical system verification. The TAB report feeds directly into the commissioning process, deficiencies are tracked through a single issues log, and there is no risk of gaps or contradictions between deliverables. Most of our healthcare and LEED clients engage ITSL for both scopes from the start.
What credentials and certifications does ITSL hold?
ITSL’s team holds AScT (Applied Science Technologist) registrations with ASTTBC, ACP (ASHRAE Certified Professional) designation, and LEED AP BD+C credentials. Our owner, Luke Buis, serves as BCxA Western Canadian Chapter President. ITSL is a BC Hydro Continuous Optimization Program approved vendor and a UL-certified body for CAN/ULC S1001 integrated systems testing. Full credential information is available on our About page.
How does ITSL handle confidential client and project information?
All project information shared with ITSL in connection with an inquiry or active engagement is treated as confidential. We do not share project details, client names, or building information with third parties. Where client confidentiality is a specific requirement — common on healthcare authority projects — we are experienced in working within those frameworks and will execute any required non-disclosure agreements prior to receiving project documentation.
